Sammy Winward on Love scenes

Emmerdale's Sammy Winward has admitted she still finds filming love scenes "weird".

The 24-year-old, who plays hopeless romantic Katie Sugden in the ITV soap, has enjoyed dalliances with a number of love interests but still finds them uncomfortable.

"I've been doing it for ages now but it's weird doing it with a mate - imagine having to kiss one of your good friends over and over again," she told Reveal.

"I just make light of it, and have lots of chewing gum."

Sammy has a trick up her sleeve if she's in a playful mood.

"If you want to annoy your co-star, eat a kebab!" she added.

With her screen alter-ego soon being seen in bed with ex-husband Andy, it's not a situation she would agree with.

"I'd advise her to take things slowly. If you get back with an ex, it's often on dodgy ground. You never know, though, it could work!" said Sammy.
